When Classic Mustang Club Sweden offers up to race at Björkvik Ring together with Camaro Club and Trans Am Club for PONY CAR MEET Reunion 2018, it is difficult not take out the car on a trip towards Nyköping. The reward for the 15 miles to Björkvik is a car meeting with equals living with their muscle cars. Street race at 402 meters against old classic cars from the late 60s and modern American muscle cars with compressors is not always easy. 50 years between the cars make a difference, but not as much as one might think. The day started with worming up for test drive on the 402 meter long track. 1600 meter were available so no need for a parachute on the back . A ladder was arranged and the cars were inspected on site with the safety in focus. Slicks are not allowed and the cars must be approved by the car test for street use. The start order is random and fastest car is still alive for next race.

Watch the movie where the races are moving fast. Here’s how you clearly can see how the red Camaro of the 2011 model make a false start against the old 1967 Shelby GT500. FordMustang Magazine can also reveal that the winning car on the Pony Car Meet 2018, a Camaro IROC of the 1989 model that you can watch on the movie, is not inspected or approved for street use by the car regulations. How would the race developed if the regulations were followed according to the invitation?
Color voting in the form of PCM Challenge originating from Lars-Åke Krantz Challenge where the audience vote for one of the 2 cars that stand first, side by side, in the queue of red or blue color.
We thank the organizer with the Classic Mustang Club Sweden at the front which makes it feel very well organized.
